Online auctions for used cars

Car auctions in Albania

Going Once Cars brings timed online auctions for used cars to Albania. The seller lists the car for free, verified buyers bid for 1 to 7 days, and the money goes through GOC until the handover.

What is a car auction?

A car auction is a sale with a deadline. The seller sets a starting price, buyers bid against each other for a fixed time, and when the time is up the car goes to the highest bid. Instead of one buyer haggling with one seller, everyone sees the same current price and the same countdown, so the price is set by real demand.

On Going Once Cars the auction is online. You bid from your phone or computer, wherever you are in Albania, without phone calls or meetings. Each auction runs for 1 to 7 days, as the seller chooses. Bids are visible to everyone, names are not: bidders appear only as "Bidder 1", "Bidder 2" and so on.

Going Once Cars sits between the buyer and the seller. We check every listing before it goes live, hold the buyer's money until the handover and prepare the sale contract. Buyers and sellers never need to exchange phone numbers.

How an auction works on Going Once Cars

For sellers

  1. List the car for free. Enter the VIN, the details, 8 photos and the condition, from your phone, in about 10 minutes.
  2. Choose the price rules. A starting price (at least €500), and if you like a hidden minimum price and a Buy Now price. Not sure? The free valuation suggests both.
  3. We check the listing. Automatic checks start at once; if anything needs a person, our team usually looks at it within 24 hours.
  4. Buyers bid for 1 to 7 days, as you choose. You get a notification for every bid.
  5. Hand over the car at the booked pickup: the buyer gives you a 6-character code and you enter it in the app.
  6. Get paid by bank transfer 1–2 business days after the handover, minus the €50 success fee.

For buyers

  1. Browse the live auctions, without an account. Look at the photos from every angle, the damage list and the details.
  2. Get ready to bid: finish your account, verify your ID once, choose a yearly plan (Basic starts with 14 days free) and save a card. There is no deposit.
  3. Bid step by step, or set a maximum and we bid for you, never above it.
  4. Win and pay Going Once Cars within 3 business days, by card or bank transfer. Never the seller.
  5. Collect the car in the city where it is, at the slot you book. Check it, sign the contract and only then give the seller your code.

Why the seller gets a fair price without haggling

In a classic sale, the price is decided by the buyer who shows up and by how good you are at negotiating. At auction, buyers compete with each other instead of with you.

  • Competition sets the price. Every interested buyer sees the car at the same time. If two people want it, the price rises until one of them stops.
  • No lowball calls. Nobody phones you to offer half the price. You only see bids, and every bid is binding.
  • The hidden minimum price protects you. Set the lowest amount you would accept. Buyers don't see it, only whether it has been reached. If the auction ends below it, you have 24 hours to accept the highest bid or decline it.
  • No last-second sniping. A bid in the last 2 minutes extends the auction by 2 minutes, so everyone can answer and the car isn't won by surprise.
  • Serious buyers only. Only people with a verified ID, an active plan and a saved card can bid.

Why this tends to give a good price is explained step by step in the guide how a car auction works, and why it gets a better price.

How buyers bid safely

  • You pay Going Once Cars, never the seller. We hold the money until you have the car.
  • The handover code protects you. Give the 6-character code only after you have checked the car, the keys and the documents and signed the contract. Until the seller enters it, the seller isn't paid.
  • Everyone is verified. Sellers and bidders check their ID before they sell or bid.
  • You see the costs in advance. The bid screen shows the buyer fee and the total before you bid.

Fees

What you pay
Listing a carFree
Seller, if the car sells€50 success fee, taken from the payout
Seller, if it doesn't sellNothing
Buyer: Basic plan14 days free, then €9.99 a year; buyer fee 5% of the winning price
Buyer: Business plan€49.99 a year, no free trial; buyer fee 3.5%
Buyer fee limitsat least €99, no maximum

Launch offer: the first 30 cars sold on Going Once Cars pay no success fee, while places last.

Example with illustrative figures, not a real car: a car sells for €8,000. On the Basic plan the buyer pays €8,000 + 5% (€400) = €8,400. The seller receives €7,950, or the full €8,000 under the launch offer.

Auction, Buy Now or fixed price?

  • Auction: the highest bid wins when the time is up. Best when several buyers are likely to want the car.
  • Auction with Buy Now: a buyer can end the auction early at your Buy Now price, paid by card at once. It is offered until the bids reach 80% of that price.
  • Fixed price: no bidding, for 7, 14 or 30 days. The first verified buyer who pays your price gets the car.

The fees are the same in all three cases.

Frequently asked questions

Who can bid in a car auction?

Anyone 18 or older with a finished account, a verified ID, an active yearly plan and a saved card. Browsing the auctions is open to everyone, without an account.

Can I see the car before I bid?

You decide from the listing: photos from every angle, the damage list, the mileage and the details. At the pickup you check the car before you give the handover code. If it doesn't match the listing, don't give the code and write to GOC Support.

What happens if the minimum price isn't reached?

The seller has 24 hours to accept the highest bid or decline it. If the seller doesn't answer, the car isn't sold and nobody pays anything.

How long does an auction last?

From 1 to 7 days, chosen by the seller. A bid in the last 2 minutes extends it by 2 minutes, again and again, until 2 minutes pass without a new bid.

Is there delivery?

Not yet. The buyer collects the car in the city where it is, at one of the pickup slots we offer.

Are there car auctions in Kosovo too?

Yes. Going Once Cars is open in Albania and Kosovo. Each listing shows its country and city.
